The Feather River below Oroville Dam is a tail water fishery. This river is best known for its steelhead and salmon fishing, holding both hatchery and wild fish. The river is broken into, two main areas: the low-flow and the high-flow. The low-flow runs from the Hatchery down to the Afterbay Outlet. The high-flow runs from the Afterbay Outlet down to Gridley. We will fish out of my drift boat, with opportunities to wade fish. Each drift is approximately seven to eight hours.

Lake Almanor is located in Chester, CA. As one of the first hydroelectric dams in California, construction on Canyon Dam began in 1912 and saw its completion in 1914. Lake Almanor takes its name from Alice, Martha, and Elinore the three daughters of the dam project’s coordinator Guy C. Earls.
Almanor provides many great fishing opportunities with good populations of rainbow trout, brown trout, Chinook salmon, small mouth bass, carp, bullhead and channel catfish.

Northern California has many tributaries that flow into the Lower Sacramento River. We guide several local seasonal creeks within 45 minutes of Chico. All of these creek and streams are artificial, barbless with special regulations and are seasonal. These streams and creeks can be a tough walk and wade at times. Hiking and climbing over large rocks and boulders is a must.
